The Fall of Troy
Home Up Happy Families Greeks Trojans The Fall of Troy Helen

"O save us", Agamemnon cries for action,

Athena helps as Odysseus builds a horse.

Break up camp now, let the fleet sail,

The Trojans must think us a broken force.

In honour we live, in your honour we die,

Time, love, and our lives we give,

Helen, so much agony for Troy,

(Death, O Helen, for Troy.)

They've built a horse, they're sailing home again,

Fallen heros, we've got them on the run.

They try to calm Athena - with a horse!

Sleep sound, Troy, the battle's won.

We've built a horse to hold a hundred men,

All our heros concealed within its span.

With help from wise Athena, we're on course

To sack Troy - it's such a plan! (and now it's done.)  + Reprise

Sleep! Now must Troy in ashes lie.

Woe! Moon on such destruction shone.

Shame! One last blaze lights up the sky,

Troy for ever gone.

At dead of night, the horse had off-loaded its men,

As the palace walls fell, the dying littered the way.

And Helen was back with Menelaus again,

O tragedy tragedy Troy, it isn't your day.    + Reprise
